You'd need to keep it in the tub quite a while even yearlings would prob freak in 4ft tanks... Depends how much you feed i guess. I've used lights, heat mat and cord, all seemed to work fine, cord was good as it's longer and can supply heat to more tubs (if you'r using tubs) it was good untill a bird ate it
