Sadly many people are just brought up this way. All my mates from the country are amazed I paid money to keep a snake, because whenever a King Brown slithers into the yards they crack it like a whip, or break its back, or shovel it etc etc etc

There's no shortage of them out country though, so it probably doesn't make a huge impact on the population. Killing snakes in the inner city may have an impact as there a fewer vens here? I dunno, probably not because there's still bloody lots.
