Do not double up the cord. what ever plastic clips you use is up to you, but do not run the cord together in the same clip, run the cord as an element 15 mm apart and that should be fine, connect the cord to a thermostat, from the thermostat to the main power use a safety cut off switch.
Keep the probe from the thermostat close at the heat source and set it as the temp you need.
Make sure with a thermometer that the heat is right dont just rely on the thermostat. remember they need a cool spot at the end of the cage.
