That's exactly it :-)

I did see your post suggesting that the whole no substrate thing wasn't required, but I would prefer to err on the side of caution, at least until they're 6 months old.

The person who I am getting them off keeps juvies on no substrate at all, as suggested in the spinipes caresheet.

I was planning on doing the no substrate thing myself, but the more I think about it, the more I think paper towel may be better. I expect them to be little excrement machines, so I think it would be more hygienic to keep them on simple, disposable substrate, like paper towel.

Not to say that the no substrate method is any less hygienic, but I think it would be easier to ensure hygiene using paper towel.
