Question cricket colonies?

Hey all, was just wondering is it possible to get a good colony of crickets going without removing eggs.If i just leave containers of peat moss or turf in the cricket tubs will the babies get eaten.I use a heat mat to provide heat, it would just make it so much easier if i could keep them all together.Any suggestions would be great.
