pet shops also rely on the impulse buyers that would not even think about owning a reptile until the see them in a shop and fall in love with it.
which is not such a bad thing, most reptile keepers started with something from a petshop.
the petshops in darwin normally keep stock from local breeders and can supply most retiles on demand.
they can be a bit more expensive than buying via the net. with the advantage of being able to view the animal first hand and no freight costs.
so even when something i see is more expensive i have to weigh up some other factors before i pass judgment.
