I have seen many posts on the thickness of glass and float or laminated etc that people recommend so I am not trying to re-hash previous posts. I am building a larger enclosure and was after opinions as to the size of glass to use. The enclosure will be housing a coastal and measures 1900 wide x 900 high x 600 deep. I was planning on using 6mm toughened as it is low to the ground as well. This enclosure has a second bay above which measures 1900 wide x 550 high x 600 deep. I could use same size glass to keep it uniform, but obviously that may be overkill. I was planning on using two sliding glass panels for the front of each bay of this enclosure. This means only supporting top and bottom. I was planning to add track to the sides for extra strength. Do people think 6mm glass would be sufficient based on the size of each pane (approx 950mm wide x 870mm high). Has anyone had experience with track with bearings as was considering with teh weight and size of each pane. Of course it is expensive way of doing it! Or would simple PVC track be sufficient? I have read many posts on glass but not this sizing so any input would be greatly appreciated.
