if you set the thermostat at say 26c and it is some distance from the heat source then the heat maybe actually at say 32c below this point. do a few temp checks to see your hottest and coldest areas and adjust the thermostat to suit. if it is a larger enclosure it will not phase the python as he will regulate himself. its only a real concern if a small enclosure
