i'm really just a noob but i thought it was meant to be cool for diamonds. i was advised to have the hot temp about 28-30 and the cold end as cold as you can get it. also to turn off the heating at night to give them a cold temp. otherwise i heard that hot temps for to longer time can cause Diamond python syndrome. here is a link to some useful info
