Once I put any new arrival in its enclosure, I give it 2 days without disturbing it. Just let it explore its new home in peace and get used to the new surroundings. On the 3rd day (late arvo) place a thawed rodent in the enclosure and leave it.
In the morning, the rodent should be gone. Ive never had one not get eaten. After a few days (give the
woma tine to digest) start taking it out for 5 minutes at a time, 2 to 3 times a day. It may be snappy at 1st but it will soon settle.
Then take it out 2 to 3 times a week for as long as the animal dosnt show signs of stress. If it happily explores and dosnt strike when its out, your doing fine.
If you feed once a week, take it out 3 times a week. Only feed the animal 25% or less times that you open the enclosure and it wont think its dinner time every time you open the glass.
