feeding question, plz help.

hi i have a yearling diamond he's nearli 4ft, still quite lean tho...i onli have 1 rat at present and it looks quite large to feed to him, its 5 inch long n 2 inch from backbone to bottom of its belly....ive heard that snakes cant choke and that if they eat an item too large to digest they will later regurgitate it? wot is ur opinion?
