Sorry i dont have a photo i didnt have time to take one

in my yard today when i was moving stuff to put into the skip bin i lifted a old brick and underneath it there was this hole, and i must have disturbed something because it started moving rather fast, it wasnt a hole that comes up it was like a verticle thing that i could then see this thing slithering along

it didnt have scales
it was greyish
atleast 1and a half cm thick
and then when it came to the end of it i saw its tail was rounded not pointy and rather red

it would have ATLEAST been a ft and a half long

i have never seen anything like it before, i get loads of beetles etc in my yard i thought it could be some giant worm but it just seemed like it was too big and fast and wierd....
