thermostats can malfunction

Not sure if you had a thermostat controlling that head pad,
but if a thermostat malfunctions, the pad it is supposed to be regulation can get very hot.
Some heat pads are very reliable,
but I still like the concept of basking light,
because if a light globe over-heats it will simply blow out!
you never get to see that with a faulty heat pad - just the aftermath
Correct me if wrong, but wasnt it a faulty heat pad that caused the ARP fire?
