hi,
i've had a male diamond x intergrade for 6 years. he's about 7ft, healthy and has a great temperament.
ive been overseas for a while and my girlfriend has looked after him very well, although she got worried the other day when someone told her that a common problem with diamonds is, that if they are not transferred to an outside enclosure, many die at around 6-7 years of age!?

now obviously we want the best for him, but i had never heard of this before, and am sceptical about just one person's opinion.
could someone here maybe shed some light on the situation for me.

we have also never properly hibernated him. is this an issue as well? bear in mind it's a diamond-intergrade cross, not a full diamond python.

any help is really appreciated!
