with my spottie eggs l use about a 9 litre container l bought in woolies,it has a ventilated, elevated shelf in it that is about 6ml off the base l then elevate it up another20mm by using sectioned 30mm plastic tube, when the time comes l put 6mm of barely warm water in there and the eggs on the platform above....never had a problem.....my personal gripe with vermiculite is ...you don,t know where or how long its been sitting...by the way the water l use l has been previously boiled....cheers solar 17 [baden]
