a wise person with lots of knowledge in herps once told me that if it can go wrong it will, so NEVER take any chances. i am scrupulous with my guys an their care etc ther're not just your average cat or dog. (no offence to owners of these animals i have them myself )
i'm not sure about snakes eyes i work with humans for a living but i know human eyes are a delicate thing and can ulcerate quite quickly if damaged so it may be a good idea to get him to a vet if your concerned at all
