Newbie Beardie owner with Latex rock & setup question Hi everyone
I'm new to the forums and have to say what a fab place this is I've learnt so much on here as I've been looking into what my first reptile baby would be and decided on a beardie. I went to the pet store yesterday to get more supplies for the setup and fell in love with a beautiful beardie girl who was just so alert and gorgeous I couldn't resist her face. While I held her she was so relaxed she watched me at first then went to sleep. So she's now mine but staying in the shop until I'm fully setup.
Now this may be a daft question as I've seen the fantastic rock walls people have made and was going to attempt one but chickened out and found a great latex rock mound thing that I thought she'd love to climb so bought it. The only concern I have is that the guy where I bought it (different place to where I bought my girl) told me you just sit it in and don't need to attach it. That would leave gaps behind though and I was worried it might be a hiding spot for crickets or that it could slip around while she's on it. I've attached a photo to show what it's like. So if I need to attach it what would be best to use.
The setup is a 4ft aquarium and I'll also make her an outside play area, Other equipment I have is a repti glo 8 - 4ft long and an exo terra glow light with a 60w bulb for her heat lamp that can sit on top so she can't burn herself. I also have repti bark for the floor.
I was going to get 2 thermometers, some wood branches (I'm in the bush so they're easy to come by and I'll treat them with bleach) a flat rock, food crickets and fresh fruit and veg, calcium & vitamin supplement and water bowls and plants for the tank (and a lid.). Is there anything else I haven't thought of? Oh and do I need a thermostat straight away or can it wait a few weeks if I keep an eye on temp, I'm around all day. I just want to make sure everything's right before she comes home.
Thanks
