You got tagged, it's a risk that each and every elapid owner chooses to take. No matter how careful you are and experienced you are a bite is always a very real posibility... your wife should have been aware of that (and if she was not then you should have made sure she was aware BEFORE you bought the snake). Yes things change but the fact that this bite was always a posibility hasn't. At the end of the day it is up to you... last thing we need is a long thread thanking everyone for the support, either stand up to your wife and say your keeping it or sell the snake to someone who is capable of caring for it and move on.
