There is more to price than simple supply and demand. Regardless of what the supply levels are per se, the quality being offered in that 'supply' is always going to dictate that there are variations in price.

What I am trying to say is, good quality animals are always going to attract higher prices.

Look at the number of ads for 'Black & Gold' jungle pythons, how many are really nice, solid black and gold animals? Not many, most are black and a dirty white/brown colour. So when a really good B & G jungle is offered they are usually snapped up at a premium price.

As for paying $50k for Roughies a few years ago, you will always pay a premium to be one of the first to have anything 'new' and people should know that. Plasma TVs are a great example of this.
