| lunar lioness I am certainly no expert on this matter...but... I had an eastern water dragon that I and others believed to be gravid. She was in this state for about six months and I was starting to think maybe she was just fat!!! Anyway I was moving house and a mate of mine kept my lizards in his outdoor enclosure whilst I did so. She laid eggs and I ended up with healthy little water dragons. I am assuming that maybe they can choose when they feel everything is right for them to lay their eggs???? Can anyone confirm this?
As for the issue with heating at night. I have never heated my beardies or water dragons at night as there is no form of heating in the wild and they seem to do just fine there. In fact it would get much cooler in the wild than it would in a nice cosy house anyway.
Hope this is of some help and maybe someone can confirm what I have said.
