Ive heard years ago about a few big cornsnake breeders in USA having problems with eggbound females, they'd put it down to the stomach muscles not being fully formed with the underlying problem being the snakes were kept in tubs most of their life with little or no cage furnishings to crawl up or over.
Eggbinding if the males too small ??
