Pulse proportional thermostat

Hi,

I'm looking at installing a light fitting and thermostat in my enclosure to keep the temps up over night once the weather starts to get colder.

I would be using a ceramic heat bulb and wouldn't expect to need it all night, just through the coldest parts.

I've been looking at the reptapets thermostat which is pulse proportional, i've read how they work but I'm still a little confused.

Any advice on if a pulse proportional thermostat would be good for providing occasional night heat would be great.

Thanks
Nik
