llasher - I cut a hole on the inside first, a bit smaller than the glass so that you have a surface to silicone the glass in place with. Then cut a smaller hole in the metal front, cut the mitres and then press it in so that it produdes beyond the inside face. Glue the glass in place with a stack of weights on it so that the angled bits finish flush against the glass and the glass is siliconed to the inside face of the door. Fill gaps with filler foam and .... VOILA!

Makes perfect sense, exactly how I would do it, if I had any idea. I recently dissected an old frig, and the mess it made with twisted metal and insulation was unbelievable. I was also interested in what tool you used to cut the hole in the metal front of the door.
