Apart from the whole disease issue, you are also disrupting local gene pools. Even if the animal looks exactly the same as the local population it is likely somewhat different. Plus healthy populations don't need human intervention to 'strengthen' their bloodlines.

On top of this you are also placing the local system out of balance and more then likely putting the animal into an existing territory.
