This is my opinion from my experience.

A snake defecates what it's body does not need and does not absorb. I have had experience in this first hand. I bought a snake that was waaay undersized for her age, and very very thin. She had a hopper rat the day after I got her, and she had completely digested it in under 24 hours. We fed her again 2 days later, and she did the same thing. It wasn't until the 3rd feed that she actually defecated, and even then only a small amount. She continued to do this for quite a few weeks. She did however, urate during this time. She is now eating on a weekly basis and defecating regularly also. Yes, for those of you that may have concerns, I did check with my vet first.
