Feeding every 3 days is too much, end of story.
Bredlis will often go into that 'hunt' position you talk about, mine do it almost every night, it is instinct, snakes are opportunistic feeders. Feed about every 7 days as juveniles, mice and even day old chicks, which mine have become very fond of.
