One - two pink mice every 7-10 days. Preferably about once a week...I wouldn't worry about the size of the coastal too much. They are beautiful snakes and most of them have great temperaments. I mean, if your buying a hatchie it won't grow to its full size in a couple of months, it will be adult size in 3-4 yrs in which time you will be used to it. And if your getting reptiles - you'll be hooked! You just have to KEEP getting more...so you'll probably end up with a coastal in the end anyway. Stimpsons and spotteds are both nice snakes as well they (also) have a great temperment (mostly). Not sure if you know this allready but anyway, when buying your snake - ask to handle it, choose a snake with a good temperment and that has a good feeding record. (by good i mean not to many refused feeds)
