You want to try and train your snake ????? "instinct" ?????
Cool, I want to train my cat to land on it's feet when chucked in the air lol.


But seriously, snakes sense more than just smell & taste.
They also sense heart beat, breathing, body temp and other litle factors that indicate whether their prey item is alive or dead. I garuntee if you threw a live rodent in there it will "instinctively" constrict the prey item. And before I get flamed let me make it clear *I do not recomend or condone live feeding*
