Going feet first would solve the problem of the shoulders, as I said it's the sudden protrusion out from the head/neck that causes the problem, so the gradual increase going back up the body would be fine.

HOWEVER, The chance of a snake getting both feet together and keeping the legs straight whilst working it's way up is probably just as much of a problem as the shoulders, if not more.

Babies can and have been taken by snakes, as well as small children. I have heard that extremely large retics and anacondas can take small adolescent humans, and even adults. It may be possible that a very small petite human, more likely a women with narrower shoulders might be able to be swallowed, But I still doubt it.
