I have had some that were fussy feeders when young, and would not take coming into a shed, so I don't offer if I know they are coming into shed. They are all great eaters now, and would probably eat now, but I do not breed my own rats and with the price of the large ones I cannot afford to be throwing good rats out. I normally feed regularly so going an extra week or so without eating, every couple of months is probably good for them.

I have others that will feed any time, so it is not an issue.

Really is a personal preference depending on the actual snake.
