Spotted python skin problem

G'Day.

I would like some constructive advice from any experienced reptile keepers regarding following problem.

This evening after feeding one of my young (5 months) spotted pythons I noticed what looks very much like a burn on his belly. About a third of the way up from his vent there is a small patch of slightly swollen, dry and reddish scales. It is living in a plastic tub with a heat pad controlled by a B2. I don't think that it is a burn because there is absolutely no heat damage to the plastic bottom of the enclosure, however it does look like one.

Is anyone aware of any fungal diseases etc that could cause such a reaction?

Can anyone shed any light on the matter?

Any advice on how to treat the animal?

Thanks,
Ed.
