Tip them straight into hot water... no bag needed. They thaw quickly and very evenly, and the snakes don't give a rats if they're wet. I've been doing it for 30 years, never a problem, and as has been stated, the wet fur can improve hydration. I have never had any problems with difficult feeders either, in fact wetting the animal with hot water probably enhances the stimulating smells.
