People who defrost rats by putting them on the bench for the day should be aware of the following.

Within minutes of death bacterial decomposition starts and accelerates rapidly as the hours go on.
Have you ever wondered why if you kill a rat and leave it outside, within an hour the flies have found it and are laying eggs.
Reason , they can smell the start of decomposition, and yes I know that snakes will eat road kill ect and yes I also know people who have been defrosting that way for years without a problem. But after seeing a list of bacteria involved in even the early decomposition process it's not a risk I would even consider..................
