They taste the rat. Especially if it is warm, as it should be.They then also see its heat signature.

and i was merely asking if it was POSSIBLE for the water to diminish the smell in some way. I was thinking that the water could bind with the smell/scent/taste molecules, diluting them or even stopping them from travelling as far as they usually would. but im no scientist so i dont know definitively |
