I would be thinking you would need a 150W Bulb..... But are you using a Thermostat with it???
Because during Summer you will want it to turn off , living up here in Brissy......
And yes I gree that enclosure is a buit large for such a Young python... Can it be modified at all to maybe only use the top half of the enclosure?? Would there still be neough yentilation to get a range of temps from top to bottom.....
Maybe attach a pic so that we can all see....
Subtrate.... I use Newspaper as I now have 4 enclosures...And it is much easier and hygienic to pull out every couple of days and swap over... The more natural looking subtrates are not only costly but can home bugs and parasites.... Being 12 I think you should go with something easy to maintain...
