I see lots of people say this, but I have kept a male MD in a 6x2x2 since I got him. He was approx 3 months old when I got him and he has never seemed to have a problem with that size enclosure. He has always eaten, always explored it, climbs on the branches, he gets around the whole enclosure quite happily. He has never been snappy when I take him out of the enclosure. He sits out on his basking log quite happily, mostly at night time, but now we are heading into winter he seems to prefer it in the mid morning/early afternoon, I guess that is to do with his natural cycle.

He has hides up the hot end, cool end and in the middle, as well as a couple of peices of pvc pipe to hide in. He usually goes in the hide up the hot end for a few days after a feed, then he can be found anywhere.

When I am cleaning his enclosure I put him in a click clack and he seems to not like it, he hides under the newspaper but as soon as I lift the lid off of it he is wanting to get out.

He is now 15 months old and is still as happy as ever.

This was my first snake and maybe my next experience will be different so I am not saying either way is wrong or right, just sharing what I have found in this case.
