Unfortunately there wasn't an option on the poll to choose all three!!! I think they are all great as first snakes - we have a Stimson's and she is superb with our 3yo daughter. They also don't get too big (max 1m, unlike
Bredli who start out pretty tiny and cute, but grow really fast and end up at around 2.5 - 3m!)
Bredli are also apparently very good first snakes - so if the bigger size doesn't worry your husband, then I would go for it! Also keep in mind that they take a couple of years to get to full size, so if you get a hatchie, then you will get used to the size slowly as they grow.

Good luck, and don't make the mistake we made of getting a huge enclosure - you can really spread your costs out by getting a click clack and heat mat for about $50 which will last them a year, then transferring them to a bigger home.
