Thought my spotted was dead

I just now checked on my 16 month old spotted as he is due to shed soon. The light to his tank is off but I turned the light to the room on so could see him but not disturb him and he was behind his hide belly up! All I saw was his white belly. I started freaking out. I turned his light on and quickly checked his heat was on, it was. The position he was in was head and first few inches of his body were up the right way but from say halfway along to the tip of his tail he was belly up, not stretched out, just coiled up normally, but belly up. He moved back into position when I disturbed him and seemed ok, I'm just wondering if this is normal behaviour? He is all cloudy because of due to shed. I got him out and checked him all over and he seemed ok. Should I be concerned? Or was he just really really relaxed?
