My carpet is comming into shed, but I am wondering how long it takes?

I have had him for about 8 weeks (time flies), he shed 3.5 weeks ago (was a complete surprise, there was just a skin there one morning) and I noticed 1 week ago, that there was grey in his black markings.

This has since grown into more of the black, but no where near all of it. I have also never noticed any clouding in the eyes.


So I suppose my question is how long does it take to shed from the first signs (assuming that grey appearing in black is a sign)?
