I have been asked by a number of purchasers of my baby accies (Ad marked sold this morning) what my hatchling setup looks like. I thought I would post one of my replies here.

A picture tells a thousand words. This is their current set up which is working fine. It is a 2 foot fish tank. The sides are painted with fluon so the roaches don't escape. I have a UV Black Light in the baton holder but I don't think this is critical. Lots of hides in the form of toilet roles. Flat shallow water bowl filled daily. Hot basking spot from 2 x 50 watt halogen lights focused on stacked bricks. Sand, kept damp at one end, as a substrate which they love to dig in. Make sure they cannot dig under anything heavy enough squash them. Here the bricks are in contact with the glass at the bottom. I have 5mm mesh as a lid which is up in the picture. When it is down I have a board that goes over the top weighted with containers of water (ready to top up the water bowl) because I have learned from sad experience that they accomplished escape artists straight out of the egg!
