Hi Hornet,
Ovulation is only for a day or so, but it is very recognizable swelling.
Coastals generally go later than macs and bhps, I wouldnt expect to see it for a month or two.
Mine are only just starting the mating cycle.
Once she has ovulated, she is gravid. As her clutch grows and moves she becomes more and more uncomfortable - she has her pre-lay shed - by then it is noticeable that she is gravid and roughly a month from laying.
If you miss the ovulation, by pre-lay time you should be back in the know, until then you speculate and change your mind daily! lol
