hi everyone..
no ones is right in somany ways.
yep the olives did produce two visual albino olives both with birth defects.
the father and 1 baby have sinced died and am uncertain of how the other is going.
there were 40 suposed gene carrying offspring from the origanal male that was found in the wild.
there was also a albino darwin carpet found in the territory that has now made its way into a collection.
the albino gene is a defect as it is in every other species of animals, people included. this so called gene produces defects at birth in all the species that it infiltrates.
eg usally eye problems ( as with the olives ) deafness in mamals as well. also mutitude of skin problems
but after saying that. every albino reptile that i have seen really have been specail to look at. the maccy was an out standing looking animal
but i am in suport of breeders of most other animal. eg :dogs etc in that visual albino should either be sterilised or uthanased and not used in future breeding programes
and yes i know its easy to say that now, and if i ever produce albino babys could i still hold the same opinion. well i dont know..lol guess will have to wait and see..lol
just some thoughts
cheers paul.
