colouration

hi pinkie.
yeah the feeling is that when the land was all one that they roamed free.
however it is now realised that there are very distinked species/forms of gtp with d.n.a supporting this. weather this being from genetics or evolution is not really knowen i dont think.

there is feeling that southern n.g and australian are very close in genetic make up.how ever animals from nth n.g , indonesia and associated islands are very differant from ours and each other.

northern animals do produce yellow babies as with every strain of gtp but the northern verietys do produce reds/oranges and a marron coloured babies mixed with the yellows. in single clutches.

there are many ongoing studies at this stage with regards to d.n.a data base information with a very good study taking place at this time here in australia. with microchipping and d.n.a samples being taken of many many indervidual animals. the us has been tracking gtp lines for many years and there are some great info that they have collected as to the differances in d.n.a, behaviour and visual content between these forms even down to neonate markings and colouration. with no sign of red babies in pure australian blood.
personaly i have never seen a red baby from whats considered australian stock with some clutches being as large as mid 20s with all being uniform yellow.
We have always been given the idea that red babies in australian gtp clutches would make blood lines questionable. but if you can point us in the direction of differant information i would be greatfull
gtp have a real interest for me and i reacon if i lived somwhere else this would be the species that we would favour. All the data that we have collected and read has mostly been from europe and the states so some good home grown info would be great thanks.

cheers paul.
