You should use a thermostat for you heat source.Position the heating element on one side of the enclosure so you have a heat gradient (one side warmer than the other).Your snake can then choose what temperature it prefers at any given time.

UV and flourescent lights dont emit much heat so they wont need to be thermostatically controlled.You simply turn these lights on for the required hours to mimic the natural photo-period.

Rather than fork out excess amounts on continually purchasing UV lights (because the UV spectrum is short lived) you would be better off to take the snake out into sunlight several hours a week.And to mimic natural photo-periods just open a nearby window to let in light.

Stimmies are also a nocturnal species,so they do not require as much UV as other species of pythons.They should get adequate calciums etc from feedings of whole animals.
