The biggest one killed and measured was quoted by Eric Worrell. I believe it was around 1945 at Greenhill, Cairns. Worrell reported it to be 28ft. Graeme Gow once told me he had seen the skin of this snake and that it was as long as quoted.

Rob Bredl(the barefoot bushman) once told me the biggest he had measured was a 23ft monster that had been killed by a farmers tractor at Cardwell.

My 21 footer was from the Johnson River Gorge, Innisvail in 1970.

The largest I have seen in the last 20 years was at the Queensland Reptile Park run by the Irwins(crikey). I never measured it but Bob Irwin believed it was between 18 and 21 feet long. They used to feed it young goats.
