That's right. In captivity the rat or mouse can't just run away if the snake doesn't want it like they can in the wild,so like I said I NEVER walk away from a live food item,I always wait untill the food item is completey dead.But this is only my opinion and I don't suggest anyone use my method,it's just the one that works for me that's all.Frozen is probably better.lol
