Feeding Bearded Dragons?

Hey everyone

A week ago i got this book on keeping bearded dragons, and i have a few questions about its contents.
It says that young bearded dragons should be fed 2-3 times a day. This does seem a bit excessive!
It also puts a lot of emphasis on how two bearded dragongs often fight for territory, it makes it out as though it is fairly common, is this true?

Regards Alex

Ps
Didnt see any reptiles in Nepal, we went to a jungle there which is home many species of snakes. I didnt see one. I went out at night there with a friend but had no luck!
