I use this wire for my own hatchling racks, but it is not so simple as just cutting a small section and hooking it up to a thermostat.
If you use too short a piece of wire then the overall resistance will be very low. This allows a high amount of Amps to flow and will cause the wire to heat up too much. The wire will in most cases burn out.
It is Nichrome wire so you cannot solder it. You need mechanical crimps. |
