Couldn't agree more. Olives can be very funny to breed at times. As you said you can do everything correct and still fail. I would say they are just as hard as BHP's to breed. The other species are easy compared to these 2.
Just one tip to any future Olive breeders. If you do have a sucsessful mating, never change the compatable pair that you succeded with
