The $10,000 fine would have been the tip of the iceberg for someone in his position, as others have said 'not allowed back into Australia' through have a criminal record commited in Australia, and that's not to mention the work he would have lost and is probably still loosing from the bad press. The UK press would have strung him out to dry, you can be sure of that!
